The Birmingham Life in the UK test centre is run by PSI on the 3rd floor of Gateway House, 50-53 High Street, right in the heart of the city centre beside the Bull Ring and Moor Street. Its central location makes it easy to reach from across the West Midlands, serving candidates from Birmingham, Solihull, Wolverhampton and the wider Black Country.

Located on High Street in Birmingham city centre, a short walk from Snow Hill and New Street stations. This centre serves the West Midlands region and is easily accessible by public transport.

Getting to the Birmingham test centre

• •Birmingham New Street is roughly a 5-minute walk, and Moor Street station sits even closer to High Street.
• •The West Midlands Metro tram stops nearby on Bull Street and Corporation Street, and city-centre bus routes serve the High Street area.
• •The centre is in the pedestrianised core, so driving in is slow — most candidates arrive by train or tram rather than car.
• •There is no dedicated parking at Gateway House; use one of the city-centre multi-storey car parks near the Bull Ring or Moor Street, as on-street parking in this pedestrian zone is not available.

The Life in the UK test has 24 multiple-choice questions. You have 45 minutes to complete it and need at least 18 out of 24 (75%) to pass. It covers British history, traditions, values, government, and everyday life.

Results are given immediately after the test. If you pass, you receive a letter confirming your result, which you need for your settlement or citizenship application.
